October is Mental Health Month. The 10th of this month is World Mental Health Day. Strangely enough from the 8th til the 14th is Mental Health Week….
I much prefer to work on mental health awareness all year around.
Mental health and mental illness are not the same thing. Although they are both two sides of the same coin. It is possible to have a diagnosed chronic acute mental illness and still achieve good mental health; Through attitude, awareness, effective management, and knowing what YOU need and doing it, to allow you to be a whole you. Acute mental illness may mean life has numerous challenges but life is possible.
